Cheap Vodafone roaming and 3 other great tips to avoid roaming fees this summer
At MO-Call we’re arming you guys with different tools to avoid mobile roaming charges. Here are some tips to help avoid ridiculous roaming charges this summer.
Tip 1 – MO-Call World
Using MO-Call in “World” mode gives you the power to set up a MO-Call callback with any local phone you come across while travelling – thus dodging any incoming roaming fee. Just make sure the “Call me at” field is a local phone you come across while abroad. It could be a friend’s phone, a public phone or even your hotel phone.
Tip 2 – MO-Call VoIP
MO-Call in “VoIP” mode allows you to connect to any Wi-Fi signal you come across while travelling. Free Wi-Fi coverage is becoming standard in many hotels, cafes and restaurants in cities world wide, so make use of any hotspots you come across – you’ll avoid paying anything to the Mobile Networks!
Tip 3 – A SIM and a MO-Call account for each country
Many of you also have MO-Call accounts for each of the SIM cards and countries you visit regularly. If you already have multiple SIMs that you use for different countries, just set up a MO-Call account for each of the SIM cards and enjoy cheap MO-Calls once you switch to a different country’s SIM.
Roaming with MO-Call and Vodafone this Summer
Vodafone has decided to abolish roaming (well only temporarily…) for the summer up until August 31st.
What does this mean to UK MO-Callers? If you have a Vodafone SIM card, you can roam for free in 35 different countries. You still pay the Vodafone international rates but you won’t pay the usual 75p/min roaming rate. What does this mean for UK Vodafone MO-Callers? If you travel abroad to one of the Vodafone free to roam countries, you’ll be able to use MO-Call Home with your UK SIM.
This means roaming calls for with Vodafone for from just 1.4p/minute with MO-Call!
Before you travel:
Make sure you opt into Vodafone Passport
When you arrive abroad:
Set your MO-Call Service to “Home” and set your Morodo Network to “UK”
